Women's Ministries

Our ladies stay busy throughout the year with different groups that meet.  If you are looking for a ladies group that has it going on.....you have found it!!

Ladies, you are invited to join us for a time of food and fellowship and to get to know some new faces at the church.  Bring a brunch item to share!! (casserole, fruit salad, pastries, etc.)

Our ladies have different bible studies throughout the year.  They have Monday evening and Wednesday mornings seasonally, and Wednesday evenings throughout the year.  Other bible study opportunities may come up at any time so keep checking back to see!!  Please feel free to join in at any time and if you would like more information, don't hesitate to call the church office 210-674-5613. 
Monday Evening Ladies meet weekly in the Children's Worship Room, (F122) at 6:30pm.  Their current series is "Steadfast Love: A Study of Psalm 107" by Lauren Chandler.  Join us!!  Books are $13.  This class is led by Karen Todd!!  

Wednesday Morning Ladies  meet weekly in Thrasher Hall.  Join us at 9:45am for a time of fellowship and then our Bible Study will begin at 10:30am. This class is led by Joyce Hallford  and their new study is "Life Lessons from Women if the Bible" by Rhonda Harrington Kelley.  Books are $15 and are currently available from Mrs. Hallford. 

Wednesday, May 9th, will be the last Wednesday Morning Ladies Bible Fellowship of the year.  Look for them to resume in the fall! 

Wednesday Evening Ladies  meet weekly in room F122, also known as the Children's Worship room in the elementary building at 6:30pm.  We have just begun a new series:   "God of Creation" by Jen Wilken. 
Join us for this new class if you want to:
  • Discover what the Bible says about God, His character, and attributes.
  • Learn to love God with your mind as well as your heart through intentional study.
  • Challenge your basic understanding of familiar stories through three critical stages of understanding: comprehension, interpretation, and application.
  • Gain knowledge of yourself by first understanding God as He has revealed Himself through Scripture. 
Books will be $15.  See Angie Stewart or Tonya Wall for more information.  This class will be led by Angie Stewart.

There are classes on Wednesday nights for everyone!!  Check us out!!

We are collecting recipes for our church cookbook!!  Bring one, bring ten, bring all of your favorites!!  There is a recipe box in the foyer and we would love to have yours!!  We are planning to publish a church cookbook soon, and want to get all the good stuff we can into it!!  We know our ladies (and our men) can cook up some good food!  Share..share...share!! Thank you to each of you who have shared recipes thus far, keep them coming!! Recipes can also be brought to the church office or emailed: info@thehillssa.org

Lydia's Stitchers Quilting Group
If you like sewing, quilting, and good old fashioned fellowship, come on out and join the ladies at 11:00am every Thursday in Thrasher Hall.  You don't even have to know how to sew or quilt!!  Every first Thursday is a themed luncheon for the ladies.     Please feel welcome to join them!  Contact the church office for more information 210-674-5613. 
The ladies are about to begin a new donation project!  They are going to be making pillow cases!  If you would like to join in, the quilters will provide the thread and material for the pillow cases.  You are always welcome to come and work on your own project too, we would love to have you. 
           Calling all cookie bakers!!  Calling all cookie bakers!!
If you have been coming here long enough, you know how much WE LOVE VISITORS!!  Each week our fabulous ladies bake homemade cookies to hand out to new visitors on Sunday mornings!  If you would like to help bake cookies, or just want to try some of these wonderful treats, stop by the Visitor Center in the Church foyer and ask for Mrs. Bennie Jones!

Legend Oaks West Nursing Care has opened their doors to our Church in many areas of Ministry.  They are located behind the Time Warner building / mobile home sales on Bertetti Drive.  Contact Al Owens or the Church office for more information about this heartwarming ministry 210-674-4904.  Sharing something as simple as time means so much. 

A few areas of Ministry Opportunity at Legend Oaks are:
· Book Club (Reading) M-W-F at 10:00am
· Arts / Crafts Monday-Sunday from 10am-2pm
· Birthday Party / Round Robin Games every last Friday at 2pm                                      · Games Wednesdays at 2pm
· Visitors throughout the week
· A Saturday Bible Study is welcome
· Sunday afternoon worship services are welcome
