Recommit to the Great Commission
Saturday, Jan 6, 2024
Central Texts: Matt 28:19-20; Acts 1:8
The Great Commission is expressed in several places in the Bible. The most well-known version of it is in Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8. It is great because no one is greater than the one who speaks it, Jesus. It is great because those obedient to it must be empowered by the Holy Spirit. It is great because it is global. It is great because those obedient to it will be witnesses to Jesus, to what God has done in their own lives, and to the transforming power and grace of the gospel. The heartbeat of God is all who come to Him through Jesus will be saved. The Great Commission speaks of disciples making disciples. How does the Lord want to use your life and your words to be a part of this task? How does the Lord want to use The Hills Church in the task of His Great Commission? Asking Him is the focus of today's prayer and fasting.
As you pray…
As you pray…
- Consider learning how to use the “3 Circles: Life Conversation Guide” to share your faith. It is free and available in the foyer of the church.
- Ask the Lord to help you have peace knowing He draws people to Himself when you recognize an opportunity to speak about our faith.
- Ask the Lord to give you more opportunities to invite others to visit our church so they can hear the gospel.
- Ask the Lord how He wants you to be involved with outreach opportunities of the church here in our own community.
- Ask in prayer for the Lord to lead us as a church to find ways to make the gospel available and accessible for every generation.
- Pray the Lord will lead you to encourage a fellow Christian who feels defeated in His walk with Jesus.
- Pray the Lord will use us to carry out the Great Commission through missions both in our giving to and in our serving in Honduras especially through our work with the mission group Los Obreros Cristianos.
